The short version

  • You own the videos you make with EditAI. We only use your content to run the features you choose.
  • Plans are subscriptions, billed by Apple when you subscribe in the app or through Stripe on our website. New subscribers get a 3-day free trial, and you can cancel anytime.
  • AI can make mistakes, and the violation check is a helper, not a guarantee. Review your video before you post it, and only use content you have the rights to.
  • Your EditAI account is your VidLabs account, so these terms work alongside the VidLabs terms.

1. Agreeing to these terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and the team that operates EditAI (“EditAI”, “we”, “us”, “our”). They apply when you use the EditAI iPhone app, the website at editaiapp.com, and any related features, support or services (together, the “Service”).

By downloading or using the app, creating an account or using the website, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.

EditAI is part of the VidLabs family of products. Some EditAI features, such as your account, posting to TikTok and product search, are provided through VidLabs. When you use VidLabs itself, the VidLabs Terms apply to that use.

2. Who can use EditAI

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age to use online services where you live, if higher) to use EditAI. If you’re under 18, or under the age of majority where you live, you may only use EditAI with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.

Some features depend on platforms with their own age rules. For example, TikTok requires users to be at least 13, and TikTok Shop and affiliate programs may require you to be 18 or older. You’re responsible for meeting the requirements of any platform you connect.

You can’t use EditAI if you’ve been barred from it before, or if using it would break the law where you live.

3. Your account

An account is optional: you can edit without one. Features that go online, like posting to TikTok, chat edits, Edit like this links and product search, need a VidLabs account. You can create one in the app or on our website, and sign in with your email and password or with Google. The same account works across VidLabs products.

  • Keep your login details secure and don’t share your account.
  • You’re responsible for everything that happens under your account.
  • Tell us right away at support@editaiapp.com if you think someone else has access to it.

You can delete your account at any time. See Your data.

4. Plans, free trials and payments

Plans. EditAI offers paid plans (currently Creator, Pro and Studio), billed monthly or yearly. There’s no free plan: using the app requires a plan or an active free trial. What each plan includes and its price are shown in the app and on our pricing page. If they ever differ, the price shown at checkout (in the App Store, or on our website’s checkout page) is the one that applies. App Store prices may vary by country and include taxes; website prices are in US dollars and taxes may be added where required.

Where you subscribe. You can subscribe in the app through Apple’s App Store, or on our website, where we offer it. Either way, the plan belongs to your account and unlocks the same features. You can have one EditAI subscription at a time, so if you already have one in one place, you can’t buy a second one in the other.

Billing through Apple. Subscriptions bought in the app are purchased through Apple’s App Store and charged to your Apple ID. Apple’s terms and payment policies apply to those purchases. We don’t receive your payment details.

Billing on our website. Subscriptions bought on editaiapp.com are billed by us, and payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method at the start of each billing period (after any free trial) until you cancel. We don’t receive your full card details.

Free trials. Each plan starts with a 3-day free trial for new subscribers. On the App Store, trials follow Apple’s rules. On our website, a free trial is available for an account’s first EditAI subscription and requires a payment method and a verified mobile number, and each mobile number can be used by only one account. On our website, entering a creator’s code before you pay gives a 7-day free trial instead, once per account. When a trial ends, it turns into a paid subscription at the price shown, unless you cancel before it ends (at least 24 hours before, for the App Store). Any unused part of a trial ends when you buy a subscription.

Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period (monthly or yearly) at the then-current price until you cancel. For App Store subscriptions, cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends; your Apple ID is charged within the 24 hours before renewal. For website subscriptions, your payment method is charged at the start of each new period; cancel any time before then.

Canceling. For an App Store subscription, cancel in iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions. For a website subscription, sign in to your account and choose Cancel plan. Before you confirm, we may offer you a discount, a switch to yearly billing or a pause, and you can always continue to cancel. Canceling stops future renewals, and you keep access until the end of the period you’ve paid for; if you cancel during a free trial, you won’t be charged. Deleting the app or your account doesn’t cancel an App Store subscription. Deleting your account does cancel a website subscription right away.

Refunds. Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com, under Apple’s policies. If something went wrong with a payment on our website, email support@editaiapp.com and we’ll make it right. Nothing in these Terms limits any right to a refund you have under the law.

Allowances. Each plan includes a number of AI edits per calendar month, and Pro and Studio include batch editing up to a set number of videos at once, as shown in the app and on the pricing page. An AI edit is counted when a video gets its first successful AI edit. Re-edits, chat changes and manual edits don’t count. Allowances reset on the 1st of each month and unused edits don’t roll over.

Pausing. If you pause a website subscription, billing stops for the pause period and the plan doesn’t unlock the app until it resumes, either automatically when the pause ends or earlier if you resume it in your account.

Codes and offers. Promo codes, creator codes and offers (such as a discount for staying or a welcome-back discount) follow the conditions shown with them. They can’t be combined unless we say so, have no cash value, are limited to one per account where stated, and may expire or be withdrawn. We may refuse or reverse a code or offer that was obtained or used improperly.

Referral codes. If you subscribe with an affiliate’s referral code or link, the affiliate may earn a commission from your subscription. It doesn’t change what you pay unless the offer says so. If you join the affiliate program, its terms apply to you as an affiliate (see our affiliate page).

Fair use. To keep the Service fast and reliable for everyone, features that use our servers or AI providers, such as chat edits and link analysis, have reasonable usage limits (for example a number of requests per hour or day). We may limit use that’s abusive, automated or far beyond normal personal use.

Price and plan changes. We may change prices or what a plan includes. For App Store subscriptions, Apple will tell you before a price increase applies and, where required, ask for your consent. For website subscriptions, we’ll email you before a price increase applies, and you can cancel before it does. If we make a change that materially reduces what your paid plan includes, we’ll tell you in advance where reasonably possible.

5. Your content

“Your Content” means the videos, photos, audio, text, prompts, scripts, captions, screenshots, links and other material you add to EditAI or create with it.

You own Your Content. We don’t claim ownership of anything you upload or create.

Where it’s processed. EditAI edits your videos on your iPhone. Your Content only reaches our servers or our providers when you use a feature that needs it, as described in our Privacy Policy.

Permission you give us. When you use a feature that sends Your Content to us, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, process, analyze, transmit and display it only as needed to provide that feature to you and to keep the Service secure (for example, to deliver a video to TikTok when you post it, or to send your request and a few frames to an AI provider when you ask for a chat edit). This license ends when the content is deleted, except for copies we must keep for legal reasons or that remain for a limited time in backups.

You’re responsible for Your Content. You confirm that you own Your Content or have all the rights, licenses and permissions needed to use it with EditAI and to publish the result, including permission from anyone who appears or is heard in it, and rights to any music, footage, logos or trademarks it contains.

6. AI features

EditAI uses artificial intelligence to understand your clips and to suggest and make edits, such as cutting pauses and retakes, writing captions and hooks, placing zooms and overlays, writing scripts and checking your video against platform rules. Some AI features run on your iPhone. Others, such as chat edits and link analysis, use third-party AI providers.

  • Review before you post. AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete or unexpected, for example a wrong word in a caption or a cut in the wrong place. You’re responsible for checking your video before you publish or share it.
  • The violation check is a helper. The TikTok Shop violation check flags things that may break TikTok Shop’s rules and suggests alternatives. It can miss issues or flag things that are fine. It isn’t legal advice and doesn’t guarantee that a video will be approved, stay up or avoid penalties. TikTok always makes its own decisions.
  • Outputs are yours to use. As between you and us, you may use the edits, captions, hooks and scripts EditAI generates for you, subject to these Terms and the rights of others.
  • Similar results. AI can produce similar output for different people. Output created for someone else isn’t Your Content.
  • No guarantees of results. We can’t promise views, sales, followers, reach or any other outcome from videos made with EditAI.
  • Not professional advice. Content EditAI generates isn’t legal, medical, financial or other professional advice.
  • Your own AI key. If you add your own API key for a third-party AI provider, such as Anthropic, those requests are made under your own account with that provider. You’re responsible for its terms and any charges.
  • Device features. Some features, such as those that use Apple Intelligence, need a compatible iPhone and may not be available on every device, in every language or in every country.

7. Posting to TikTok and other platforms

If you connect a TikTok account, you authorize us to access it within the permissions you approve and to publish, schedule or send to your drafts the videos and photos you choose, with the settings you choose, when you ask us to.

  • To post, your video is uploaded to our servers and delivered to TikTok, then deleted automatically, as described in our Privacy Policy.
  • You’re responsible for your post’s caption, privacy and interaction settings, and for following the rules of every platform you post to, including community guidelines and branded content and advertising rules.
  • If you post promotional, sponsored or affiliate content (for example TikTok Shop products), you’re responsible for disclosing it as required by law and by the platform, for example using TikTok’s content disclosure settings and following the U.S. FTC Endorsement Guides.
  • Scheduled posts depend on TikTok and on your connection staying active. Posts can be delayed or fail because of a platform’s decisions, limits or outages, or if you disconnect your account. We’ll tell you in the app when a post needs your attention, but we’re not responsible for a post that doesn’t go out, or for what a platform does with content you post there.
  • You can disconnect TikTok at any time. See Your data.

8. Links, references and AI assistants

Edit like this and Learn my style. When you paste a link to a video or a profile, we retrieve and analyze that public content so your edit can follow its structure and style. Only use content you’re allowed to use this way. Use references for inspiration and structure, not to copy someone else’s video, voice, likeness or work, and respect other creators’ rights.

AI assistants. If you connect an AI assistant (such as Claude or ChatGPT) to your VidLabs account, it can queue edit requests that EditAI picks up on your iPhone. You’re responsible for requests made through assistants you connect. Assistants can’t post for you.

9. Acceptable use

When you use EditAI, don’t:

  • break any law or anyone’s rights, including copyright, trademark, privacy and publicity rights;
  • create or share content that sexualizes minors, promotes violence or terrorism, harasses, bullies or threatens people, or promotes hate based on protected characteristics;
  • create sexually explicit content, or deceptive content that impersonates a real person, makes someone appear to say or do something they didn’t, or misleads people about who made it;
  • make false or misleading claims about products, including health claims you can’t back up;
  • send spam or use EditAI to mass-produce misleading content;
  • try to access other people’s accounts or data, or bypass limits, payments or security;
  • reverse engineer, scrape, overload or disrupt the Service, or access it by automated means other than features we provide, except where the law allows it despite this restriction;
  • use the Service to build a competing product or to train AI models, or resell access without our written permission.

We may remove content that reaches our servers, or restrict or end accounts, that break these rules.

10. Music, sound effects and other assets

EditAI may give you access to sound effects, fonts, caption styles, templates or other assets that we or our partners provide (“EditAI Assets”). You can use EditAI Assets only inside videos you make with EditAI and publish on social media and similar platforms, unless the app says otherwise. You can’t extract, sell or redistribute EditAI Assets on their own. Some assets may have extra terms shown in the app.

Music you add is your responsibility. Auto music uses tracks you add yourself. Only add music you have the rights to use, such as your own tracks or properly licensed music. For trending sounds, add them in TikTok when you post, under TikTok’s licenses. Platforms may mute or remove videos that use music you don’t have rights to.

11. Our intellectual property

The Service, including the app, website, software, designs, caption styles, editing recipes, the EditAI name and logo, and everything we provide other than Your Content, is owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. We give you a personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, as allowed by these Terms and the App Store’s usage rules.

If you send us feedback or ideas, we can use them freely without owing you anything.

12. Third-party services

The Service works with services we don’t control, such as Apple, TikTok, VidLabs and AI providers. Your use of them is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We’re not responsible for third-party services, and links to other websites don’t mean we endorse them.

13. Changes to the Service

We’re always improving EditAI. We may add, change or remove features, and some features may be labeled beta or experimental and may not always work as expected.

14. Ending your use of EditAI

You can stop using EditAI and delete your account at any time (see Your data). Deleting your account cancels a subscription bought on our website, but not an App Store subscription, so cancel that in iPhone Settings first.

We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, if we’re required to by law, or if your use creates risk or legal exposure for us or others. Where appropriate, we’ll tell you why. Your projects stay on your iPhone.

Sections that by their nature should continue after your account ends (such as ownership, disclaimers, limits of liability and dispute terms) will continue.

15. Disclaimers

We work hard to make EditAI great, but the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement and that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, or that AI output or the violation check will be accurate.

Some places don’t allow these exclusions, so some of them may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms affects rights you have under consumer protection laws that can’t be waived.

16. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we won’t be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, followers or goodwill, arising from or related to the Service or these Terms, including a platform removing, limiting or penalizing content you made or posted with EditAI.

To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim related to the Service or these Terms is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid for EditAI in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) US $50.

These limits don’t apply to liability that can’t be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

17. Indemnity

If you break these Terms or the law, or infringe someone’s rights through Your Content, and that leads to a claim against us, you agree to cover the reasonable costs and losses that result, including reasonable legal fees, to the extent the law allows.

18. Resolving disputes

If you have a problem with EditAI, please email support@editaiapp.com first. Most issues can be solved quickly that way, and we’ll try in good faith to resolve it within 30 days.

If we can’t resolve it informally, the dispute will be handled by the courts that have jurisdiction under applicable law, and these Terms are governed by the laws that apply where EditAI is operated, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you’re a consumer in the European Union, the United Kingdom or another place that gives you the right to bring claims in your home courts or under your local consumer laws, you keep that right.

19. Apple App Store terms

If you downloaded EditAI from Apple’s App Store, you also agree that:

  • These Terms are between you and us, not Apple. We, not Apple, are solely responsible for the app and its content.
  • Your license to use the app is limited to use on Apple-branded products you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
  • Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
  • If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price for the app (if any). To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
  • We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims by you or third parties relating to the app, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws.
  • If a third party claims the app or your use of it infringes their intellectual property, we, not Apple, are responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging that claim.
  • You confirm that you’re not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you’re not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • You must comply with applicable third-party terms (for example your wireless data agreement) when using the app.
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, once you accept them, may enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.

20. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll let you know in the app, by email or on this page before they take effect. The “Last updated” date at the top always shows the latest version. If you keep using EditAI after changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.
